In the context in which the problems of the energy sector, such as gas and electricity, are not addressed, Romania could lose its role as a regional leader in energy. Coal-fired energy production is currently indispensable for the Romanian energy sector, so investments are needed in this area, said Corneliu Bodea, president of the Romanian Energy Center, during the ZF Power Summit event.

“I believe that Romania will lose its role as a regional leader in energy if it does not urgently address urgent energy problems, I am referring to gas and electricity. We have a production structure that does not meet the requirements of a competitive market. Competition is also important because the simulations that have been made clearly show the need for coal-based production to remain for a long period of time.
